I need to make Sweet and Sour Meatballs for 160 guests. How many should I plan on per person. We do have lots of other apps but they always go for the meatballs!

Yes, they do. Allow 1 pound ready to heat meatballs for each 4-5 people.

With that nice mid-afternoon time, you use about 1/3 less food than for a meal, but you still need to up some of your amounts.

18 lbs frozen meatballs- 1 pound per 6 to at most 8
? ingredients for sauce- lots of recipes; You can even do a thickened beef broth and dipping sauces.
240 deli spirals- OK
18 lb lil' smokies- same as meat balls
64 oz grape jelly
1G grape jelly
3 15-20 lb cheese trays- 2 only, max, 30 pounds max 1 1/2 ounces crackers or bread per person (1 pound per 10)
3lb broccoli-2 ounces per person- you lose almost 1/2 in the trimming
5 lbs baby carrots- 1 ounce per person
3 quarts tomatoes- grape or cherry
1G ranch dressing- 1/4 cup per person
4 boxes Ritz crackers- not enough- see notes above
Consider adding an interesting inexpensive veg appie, smashed roasted new potatoes, parmesan spinach squares, my Parmesan biscotti, etc- 2 small pieces per person
Chocolate Fountain:
10 lb milk chocolate
12 lbs strawberries
40 oz pretzel barrel- 1 ounce per person
6 bags marshmallows

For this, see the chocolate fountain article. Have enough fruit that people can eat plain- see the fruit tray page, add other fruits
+ the cake
