When using an oven does the amount of food you put into the oven affect the cooking time? ie the more food you put in the oven the longer it will take to heat up. |

For very large amounts of food, it does slow down cooking, especially if you have cold food to start with[ scalopped potaoes with cold milk my take 4 hours, where hot milk takes 1 1/2 hours! ALWAYS preheat your oven for very large amounts. Allow double time if the item is going from refrig to oven (you may also have to turn down the heat or cover to prevent drying/burning before the middle gets cooked) and warm liquids you are adding, if possible.
