We'd like to make Green Bean Casserole for 60 for our family reunion. Matt and Kathy's Better Green Bean Casserole looks really good, but we're wondering if the kids will like it. If we stick with the traditional recipe for 60, would we just substitute a 10# can of beans for the oriental veggies and another can of FF onions for the almonds? Would there be a need to add milk like the original recipe? Also, can this be made in a roaster? Thanks! Deb |

Yes, you can add the green beans instead, but we had kids at our rehearsal dinner and they likes this fine- maybe go all onions instead of the almonds, but the water chestnuts, which make it extra good are easy to pick around for extra fussy eaters. Just keep the liquids as indicated. Yes, it can be made in the roaster, use plenty of pam on the cookwell and don't put the onions on until about 20 minutes before serving. |
