Does anybody know how to calibrate an oven? I had a repair guy come out here and he supposedly fixed it, but it still takes twice as long as it should take to cook anything. I bought a $4.00 thermometer, but I am assuming I should get a better one. does anyone know of one? |

A moderately more expensive thermometer allows you to put the probe inside the oven and the thermometer outside, allowing you to read without opening, giving a very accurate reading. What are you comparing to? My oven takes about 20 minutes to get to temp. |

I bought a cheapie thermometer and the repair guy ( who said he calibrated the oven) told me it was inaccurate) However, after he finished with the oven, it still is not heating properly. So...I don't know whether to trust my $4 or buy another. do you know a brand that is accurate. |

Taylor and Cuisinart are both reliable. |
