Cleaning stainless steel pots 'n pans

We recently bought some Potobelo stainless steel pots and pans. I notice that the first time I used the soup pot to make some chicken soup that the bottom of the pan had little black marks on it. I thought it may have been from the salt I threw in before the stock was boiling. Any suggestions?

Restaurant supply houses carry food safe stainless steel cleaners. If possible,don't scour- the microscopic scratches encourage sticking ever after.
