I have to cook breakfast for 50 for my church. They want pancakes, sausage links, scrambled eggs, breads &/or muffins, juice.

The church does not have a griddle to cook the pancakes. What is the best way to cook pancakes for 50 and how to keep warm? About how long would it take to cook pancakes for 50? Scrambled eggs how long can you keep them warm? The breakfast is at 9:30am. I'm trying to figure out how to schedule my time for everything. Help! with suggestions please

Diane pancakes for 50 with no griddle, ridiculous. Used my bakes pancake recipe (it's a puff). Or cheesy hash browns, or date pecan strata (a remarkable dish). Everything about holding scrambled eggs is already in the egg faq.

Ellen, I am having trouble finding the recipes you suggested. I didn't see them in the recipe box or else where on the site, could direct me to the right area. Also in my search for the recipes I did find your recipe for Baked French Toast Strips. Do you think this is a good replacement for the pancakes? If so do you have a recipe for the Texas Toast white bread?

This breakfast is for pastors & board members in our area. I really want it to be a nice selection but yet I need to keep it as simple as possible due to it is only myself and my niece preparing this and the cost down. The current menu suggested by one pastor was as follows:

Pancakes
link sausage
scrambled eggs (w/spinach, onion, red pepper & green pepper)
Zucchini muffins
Orange Juice, Coffee, water

This is what I think I would like to serve;

scrambled eggs
baked french toast
link sausage
cheesy hash browns
zucchini muffins, blueberry muffins, date pecan strata
Fruit bowl
orange juice
coffee
water

Is this to much? I like to serve a variety but have a tenancy to go over board. The church has two regular home stoves I can use that morning and they have crock pots, portable ovens and a buffet warming set where you use the candle things to keep them warm.

I appreciate your suggestion and help, Thank you!

The pastors would LOVE your choices and much better for them. I meant the baked French toast strips, don't know where my head was.

I would do either the strata or the French toast, not both.

Ellen for the Hash Brown "Cheesy Potato Casserole" when making 5 times the recipe and cooking in an electric roaster, how long do I cook it for and would I still cook it at 375 degrees?

Texas toast is just double sliced and both most bakeries and most steak houses can supply it.

I turn it down to 325 and cook it longer- use a quickread thermometer- it must get to 180 in the middle.

Thanks for the info on Texas toast however I was asking about the Hash Brown Cheesy potato casserole. How long to cook in an Electric Roaster and what temp if the recipe is 5 times the recipe. Should this also be at 325 and 180 degrees?

The temp info was for the potatoes.
