slow cooker electrical short

had an unusual and potentially dangerous event with my slow cooker; I didn't notice that the electrical cord was looped between the ceramic pot and the metal sides of the cooker. The heat over several hours on high melted through the insulation of the electrical cord creating a short with a shower of sparks, smoke and all kinds of fun stuff. No harm done other than a ruined cord, but could potentially cause a fire or an injury - just thought I would let people know.

That is definitely a big OOPS. Thanks for writing.
