It depends on what side dishes you are serving (rice, beans) and also whether it is for tacos or stew plates, and also whether it is self-serve/buffet, but for a party size portion all 608 ounces cooked ready to eat meat per person. So, 2 pounds ready to eat for each 5 people if there are heavier sides, 2 pounds for 4 for light sides or self service. |

i am having a baptism for my son we are having 250-300 guest. i well be serving rice and beans,roll of bread and potato salad... so i would like to know how much pig meat would i need to serve 250-300 guest... (am stuck on either having some one get the pig for me and cooking it and i do the side dishes or getting a carter but i need to know how many pounds of meat) thank you |

OK. That counts as heavy sides, so you need 2 pounds ready to eat for each 5 guests. 50 pounds raw boneless pork shoulder would make for 100 people. If you are talking whole pigs for roasting, an 80 pound whole pig serves about 70-75 people. |
