I trying to cook some boston butts for 250 people. How many do you think I need? |

This is a bone in fresh pork shoulder. If you are cooking to slice for roast, 130-140 pounds. If to shred for sandwiches, about 100 pounds. |

Densie, are all of these for 50 people at the same meal? If yes, you need to tell me how big a turkey and how you plan to fix the pork (sandwiches, bbq, sliced etc.) Write back. |

I am feeding about 120 and I have 6 pork butts about 10 pounds each. I am going to cook 2 or 3 at a time in a 20 quart electric roaster. I would like to know how many hours in roaster and at what temperature. Also, one butcher said I should put coke in the bottom for liquid. Approx how much coke and any other seasonings? If I am cooking in advance for a party and then freezing, should I freeze with or without sauce? |

Freeze with the sauce. See the recipe for Carolina pulled pork at the bottom of this page for discussion and tips: www.ellenskitchen.com/bigpots/plan/bbq.html Coke works fine, but there are many other options. |
