I have a whole rib eye for christmas serving 12-14. The roast is 14# will i need to cook the whole thing. Most of what im reading suggests 8oz per adult. 7-8 lbs If cutting is one end better than the other. |

If you roast the whole thing, you will end up with about 10-11 pounds. This will provide party size portions and leave you about 3- 3 1/2 pounds left; this would be a wonderful cold item for family the next day, for great sandwiches , etc. I would not make less than 10 pounds for this party even if I did not plan leftovers. The "small end" is the premium end of the roast. |

By the way, here is the Texas Beef Council's recipe for roasting a whole ribeye: www.txbeef.org/recipe_book/roasts/whole_rib_eye |
