whole hog for 600

07/12/10 		How much whole hog and chicken leg quarters should a person cook for a party of 600 people. The sides will be catered and it will be self served. Any suggestions on cooking whole hog would also be appriciated. Thanks Steve

07/12/10 		Steve, this is a MAJOR undertaking, as you would need to cook 600-800 pounds of hog. If you have never done it, that is just asking for catastrophe. See the links to whole hog BBQ on the BBQ and brisket page.

If it were my party, I would make the side dishes and cater the hog..
