Hi! I was wondering how could I get rid of the ground cumin residue from my blender. I had seeds and needed them grounded but all I had was my blender. My chili came out great but now my blender smells like cumin seeds! Does anyone have any ideas or know how? You can e-mail me or respond to this thread. =) Thank you! |

First grind some smallish chunks of dried bread into crumbs to pick up oils and fragments. Then put a small squirt of dishwashing soap and some hot water in, hold the lid on, and run for one to two minutes, and repeat with fresh soap and water a time or two if needed. If the odor still persists, put in a couple of halves of lemons, peel and all, after you have used the juice, plus a tablespoon of coarse salt, and run until complete mush. That should do it. If you do a lot of spice grinding, a $15 blade type coffee mill used just for spices is a convenient investment. |
