substitutions for brandy

I recently found a recipe for mushrooms using Brandy as one of the ingredients. Since no alcohol is comsumed in our house, what can be substituted? I used apple cider. Any other suggestions

Dear Sharon,

To get the sweet and rich flavor contributed by brandy, you might want to experiment with white grape juice, apricot juice, or slightly sweetened black tea and a small amount of fine vinegar- you will have to work on "to taste" for your family's preference.
