diastolic malt powder

01/01/03 		anyone know where i can get diastolic malt powder? i haven't seen it, and i've been to 3 grocery stores, including one natural food mart.

01/02/03 		Sorry you are having such a hard time, we can actually get it in bulk at our natural grocery. You can sometimes find this at brewery supply stores. It is barley malt. You can also order it from King Arthur Flours, even online.

I am an American now staying in Shanghai- came just three month ago

In USA , I have no problem to get diastatic malt

In china, they do not have diastatic but they call it malt powder

Would like to check , are
malt powder same as diastatic malt

Would appreciate for your advise as
it is impoosible for me to buy from King's Arther from usa due to china Tax here is 20% higher

10/28/03 		You can try regular barley malt powder, it still feeds the yeast, but it is more unpredictable- less nourishing to the yeast. If you get happy results, write it back to us!
