Hi! We're planning our daughter's graduation party for July 1st at 5pm. We will be having, baked zita, tossed salad, macaroni salad, fried scallops, chicken wings and lots of other "munchie" type food. I would also like to have deli platters but I'm not sure of how much to serve given I have other food. Last time I did a similar party for our older daughter, I had so much left over and I don't want to do that again. Also - I'm likely doing dinner rolls if that makes a difference. This is "dinner time" but there's lots going on too, karaoke, volleyball, horseshoes and bocce...Thanks a million for your help.

The simple way to decide if you have the right amount of food for this munchie party over a mealtime, is that you want a max of 1 1/2 pounds (24 ounces) of all foods per person.

About 7-8 ounces of that is meats/entrees; bony meats like wings are 1/2 meat, while scallops are almost 100%. So figure out how much of these you have, then fill out with the deli platters, allowing about 1 1/2 ounces sliced cheese for every 3-4 ounces of meats.

So figure out your menu and estimate the weights, and yu will be much closer to perfect with fewer leftovers.
