Outdoor Picnic

My kids' baseball league asked me if I would help make a meal for their volunteer coaches, managers and their respective families-about 100 adults and 125 kids-225 total. Their budget is only $3-$4 per person. What menus, other then BBQ, could fit this budget, as obviously BBQ is too expensive? Is this even a realistic amount for them to spend on hosting a meal? It will be outside, public park, no grills allowed. Thanks in advance for the help!

Yes, this is possible, if you have some other folks to help prep/ donate or solicit donations. Local restaurants and groceries are often willing to donate for these occasions.

You will need 4 2 sided serving bars to feed all these folks rapidly.

Taco bars with rice and beans are possible, kept hot in preheated ice chests (see the baked potato bar for how to heat the chests).

See if your local pizza companies are willing to donate pizzas? Add pasta salads, fruit trays.

Can you get the families to bring desserts?

Iced tea and lemonade are the inexpensive drink options- avoid sodas.

Do any of these sound possible?
