Dear Ellen, I am having a family picnic/pool party on a hot humid July day. How much soda and/or bottled water should I buy and put in ice chests? Alice |

This depends on the length of the party and whether you do cans or poured bottles. Cans, 3 12 ounce cans or bottles each for a party of 3 hours or less, add 1 can per hour, plus 10%. 2 liter bottles pour 8 servings with plenty of ice, allow 1 serving per hour plus 10% plus 2 pounds drink ice per person (this is in addition to the ice you use in the tubs). Lots of beverage ideas and measures on the beverage planning page in the Big Pots section. |

How much soda for pool party of 125? We are having 75 adults and 50 children. WE are having beer, wine and mixed drinks. We have soda/juice boxes for the children. How much soda do you think we would need Thank you |

You need to figure the adult sodas as part of the mixed drinks, using 3/4 of the amount for 100. For the kids, 1 drink per hour, probably 1/3 juice and 2/3 soda unless your group is very health-minded. |
