I am making sause and meatballs for 40 people and need to know how much meat to buy

When I make a ground beef dish as a party entree for 100, I usually plan on up to 40 pounds ground meat, except for sloppy Joes or spaghetti sauce, where 25 is plenty. For entree meatballs, I make a pound of meatballs for every 2 1/2 to 3 people.
