Wedding reception for 100
Joy in the South
09/22/12
My daughter is getting married on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend at 2:00 P.M. We will have between 80 and 100 people of all ages. I want to have a light reception.

I'm planning to serve:
Cupcakes, grooms cake
Crab salad, crackers
Cheese, crackers
Hummus, pita chips
Vegetable tray, ranch dip
Spinach dip, pretzel chips
Mixed nuts
Sliced apples, caramel dip
Sweet tea (this is the South!), soft drinks
Coffee, water

How does this menu sound? Do I follow the quantities on the light appetizer plan?

Thanks!

This is perfectly appropriate. 1/4 cup hummus per person. 1/3 cup crab salad. 1/4 cup hummus. Consider enhancing the fruit tray, see the fruit tray page, for color and richness. Consider one interesting starchy appie such as sausage balls (3 per person), mini quiche, stuffed biscuit.

Ooops, I meant 1/4 to 1/3 cup spinach dip on the second hummus- the larger amount if it is the one with artichoke hearts, in which case you might also consider serving it hot.
