Dried Beans to cook for a large number

08/19/05 		We will be serving pinto beans with our banquet menu for 350 attending. How many lbs. of dried beans will we need? Thanks!

08/19/05 		Depends on the rest of the menu. For a main dish for real bean lovers, I have made 6 pounds for 50 people.
Side dish-wise, 1 pound dry makes 12 1/2 cup servings or 8 3/4 cup servings. Then you add volume with your add-ins. You would have a moderate amount with 30 pounds, a generous amount with 45 pounds.
