We are planning a meal with a fundraiser. We will have about 75 people to prepare food for. We are trying to ask for donations from our members. We will purchase the sandwich meat (pulled pork & shredded chicken), but want the sides & desserts donated. We were going to have potato salad, cole slaw, fruit salad, & tossed salad as sides. If we ask for 1# from each person, how many pounds total do we need? For desserts, we were thinking about having cookies and brownies. Will 8 dozen cookies and 2 trays of brownies enough? How many sandwiches should we count on? |

A pound of these foods, except the green salad, is about a pint. I would ask for food in pints of quarts, and this is what I would ask for for this party:
potato salad, 3 gallons
Cookies, at least 12 dozen I divide it up so the costs are about equal- amounts of slaw are more than amounts of fruit salad, less than tossed, for example. Allow 1 pound ready to serve pork per 5 PLUS 1 pound ready to serve chicken per 6. 1 1/2 regular rolls or two smaller ones for adults. |
