I want to make sure my numbers are correct... we are doing refreshments after caroling on Sunday evening. The caroling will be from 5:30-7pm - some groups may be back sooner and some later. We are expecting 60 people - mixed ages - 30 of them middle and high schoolers and the rest families with some older adults mixed in. I will be doing assorted homemade cookies so I am thinking 20 doz of those. I am doing coffee, hot chocolate (from your recipe) and homemade punch. I will do maybe 30 cups of coffee and I have the stuff to make 2 batches of punch so would a 1/3 recipe of the hot chocolate be enough? |

The cookies look about right- never hurts to have a sheet of bar cookies that can be frozen if not eaten, as back up. Pretty much all of the teens and about 1/3 the adults are likely to want hot chocolate. Punch is not such a big draw this time of year, unless it is alcoholic... Have a lovely party. |

thanks Ellen! I am only doing the punch because i have the ingredients left over from an event in the summer and need to use them up. It was a big hit this summer so hopefully I will be able to get rid of the supplies. So will a 1/3 recipe be enough of the hot chocolate or should I do more like half? |

Half recipe is only 2 gallons, 32 cups. Definitely make at least 1/2. |

Thanks - you are a lifesaver as always! |
