There are many variations on this "mexican pizza" "taco pizza" or "tostado pizza"; these are the basics for a 12 inch pizza.

CRUST:
1 1/2 c. Bisquick (can use other baking mixes
1/2 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. water

Topping:
1 pound ground beef
3/4 c. water
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 (4 oz.) can chopped chilies
1 (16 oz.) can refried beans
1 1/2 to 2 cups (6-8 ounces) cheddar cheese, colby cheese or jack cheese, shredded
1 cup chopped lettuce
Diced tomato- about 2 whole
2 cups salsa

OPTIONAL
1/2 cup chopped onion
Crushed tortilla chips
chopped black olives

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix Bisquick and cornmeal. Add water and stir until mixed. Stir 20 times. Spread on greased pizza pan (easiest with wet hands). Bake 15-20 minutes until crust begins to brown.

Brown beef; drain. Add taco seasoning and water and chilies. Simmer 15-20 minutes.

When crust comes out of oven, spread refried beans evenly on crust. Top with beef mixture and olives. Bake 15 minutes until most liquid is gone. Top with cheese. Bake up to 10 minutes to melt cheese. Top with lettuce, tomato and optional onions and chips. Serve with salsa.

Thank you for sharing this recipe. You wouldn't believe how long I have been looking for this and recipe. My family and I were stationed in Germany, when I first found it in an Army family magazine. I would make two or three taco pizzas when my husband and the others came in from field training. They love it.
