I need a new oven and want a double oven. Which is better: gas or electric? Is a convection oven any good? |

Electric for ovens, gas for stove tops is my preference. For baking or roasting, convection is wonderful, there is a learning curve, you need different temps and times. |

gas or ceramic top double oven? I need advice on purchasing either the ceramic flat suface top or go to the gas elements? I want the double oven also and wonder if the small one should be on the top (Gemini) ot bottom (GE)? Thank you! |

I personally despise the flat top stoves and would never select one if a gas top were available. That's just me, but if you read the ceramic cook yop threads you will see they are a whole different ball game tha a traditional stove. The double oven we were refering to above is two ovens in the wall like on some cooking shows. I have found that the small extra oven built into a stove seems to be not much more use than a good countertop or toaster oven for my kind of cooking. Think about whiether you want to be lifting large hot pans down from over your head... |
