Please tell me the quanity of food
I will need for a cook out(rehearsel dinner)for 35 people

Hamburgers, hotdogs--- buns, Condiments for them.Baked beans---cole slaw---potatoe salad--boiled corn---chili---chips--- banana pudding. Ice tea, coffee and soft drinks

09/29/05 		Sharon, go to Big Pots and see the page called Quantities to serve 100, and then at the beverages and the sandwiches page. You use a bit over 1/3 for 35 people. Basically about 1 hamburger and 1 hotdog for each person. But do consider getting kielbasa or Polish sausage for the sausages, way more tasty and grown up. Kielbasa is a tasty brand. Of course, you would need to add a couple of pints of sauerkraut.

You want 1 gallon total for sides per each 10 people. I would do 1 1/3 gallon potato salad, split the rest between the slaw and the beans.

Chili for the hotdoge, you would allow 1 cup for each 8 hotdogs, but if you mean it as a main course, see the chili page. Corn, 1 piece per person, doesn't matter how large they are. Corn chips, 2 1/2 pounds or potato chips 2 pounds.

My office is having a picnic - hot dogs/hamb w/cheese, pies, soda/bottled water. Should I
use the equation 1 hotdog/1 hamb per person,
how many large pies at Sam's should I get?
How much soda/bottled water?! Help, thanks!

10/10/05 		The large pie cuts 10-12 pieces, so 3 would be barely enough, 4 plenty.

Sodas are harder- it would be helpful to ask around or check with the vendor at your business. 2 sodas apiece...

04/21/06 		If you want approximately equal amounts of ham and beef, plan on about 6 ounces total cooked per person if you serve or 8 ounces if it is self serve. Since cooking loss is 40%, you will see the amounts for raw in the big pots plan for 100 table.

With teens (assuming a high school graduation)I would provide about 150 good rolls- many will make sandwiches and it cuts down on the amount of meat. Se the sandwich event page for amounts of condiments, pickles, olives, etc.

There is a good mostacioli and sausage recipe for 120 on the lotsea pasta page, use this recipe for quantities, omitting or reducing the sausage.

Potatoes, 35 pound per 100, so about 40 pounds with the pasta as a second starch dish.
