Yes either one is too much food for 25 people for a mid afternoon reception. I will work on this and post again Tuesday or Wednesday.

These are the same for both:

5 gallons of sweet tea Do 2 sweet, 1-2 unsweetened
38 lbs of ice- 25 enough unless you need ice chests
60 forks-OK
add spoons and knives- 25
60 9oz cups-OK
45 plates- if you get heavy ones, 36 is enough
45 dessert plates- OK
125 napkins-OK

Consider adding dinner level coffee as outlined on the beverage page, 1/4 the amount for 100 (one coffee maker of regular, one decaf would be an easy way to do this)

Actually, on second look, the food estimates for the slider menu are fine, you will probably have some left; add sliced cheese so anyone who doesn't eat meat can still make a sandwich; about 2-3 pounds.

Now about menu number one:

pinwheels..96 pieces- 3 pieces per person, = 75, plenty
variety of 3 sliced meats 6 lbs, plenty, 1/2 beef, 1/4 each turkey and sausage/ham
variety of 7 sliced cheeses 9lbs- no- see note with cheese ball
chicken salad 3lbs- OK
condiments- use 1/4 the amount for 100 on the sandwich page
50 small rolls
20 mini croissants

1 cheese ball
variety of 7 sliced cheeses 9lbs
You need a total of about 6 pounds of cheeses including both the sliced cheeses and the cheese balls/logs
variety of crackers

fruit tray for 25- OK
3 cups of dip- OK
vegi tray for 25- I would probably do 1/2 a classic relish tray instead of the straight veggies- see the veggie tray page
3 cups of dip- use guide on veggie tray page

Thank you so much Ellen...I will definely donate to your sight...I have been trying to figure the cost according to Sams club prices. and it seems that for slider menu its about for 25 $322.40/$12.90per person...and the sandwhich menu for 25 is about $528.07/$21.12per person...is this unreasonable??? and I have no method of figuring out what to charge for my services...do you know how to fugure that out?? Thanks again and you are a life saver!!!
