Hi Ellen, I recently purchased a set of "Circulon Premier Professional" cookware. The pans are chocolate brown and the bottom of the pans have an recessed circle in the middle of the pans cooking surface. They say that they are both dishwasher and induction suitable. When I stated to use them, I noticed that my cooktop burners were showing discoloration beneath the white ceramic surface of the burner. They do fit the dimensions of my cooktop elements. When I made breakfast this morning, I came back to clean up, and there was a chip missing from the front of the cooktop surface and the right 2 burners (that I had used) had cracked from the front to the back. I have had my cooktop for 6 years and it has always been easy to keep clean with no discoloration or problems. This all happened after purchasing these pans, could the pans have caused this? Thanks! |

Most ceramic tops are NOT induction tops and the recessed circle pans are very bad for the standard ceramic tops; because the center does not contact the element, they cause then burners to overheat and do not allow them to cycle on and off as they are designed to do. Sorry to hear you got misled; the glass top can be replaced, but by the time you replace both the top and the pans, it might be less costly to replace the whole top. |
