Hi Ellen, We're having a super casual potluck reception at my mother-in-law's house for 30. My MIL is making a roast, my step-mother is making a turkey, and we're going to bring food from a local restaurant for the hot sides. However, since it's pretty much going to be an all day affair (people are coming from out of town), we're going to need extra stuff throughout the day. The in-town people have all offered to make some cold platters/cold salads to bring. Do you have any ideas on some dishes that might work for all day snacking and a light lunch? Thanks so much! |

Your meats are fine for dinner, so what you really need is the lunch time/ snack time later to be covered. How about a couple of big crock pots of soup or chili, and sandwich platters (see the sandwich page, do 1/3 the amount for 100. 1 1/2 gallons of potato salad and/or the same of pasta salad. Other good choices would be any from the salads that hold section, or the antipasto vegetables on site. 1 gallon of fruit salad or beans or marinated bean salad. Chips for 30, about 3 pounds, about 1 1/2 quarts dip. Deviled eggs hold, if refrigerated- |

OK thanks! I didn't even consider crock pot dishes! Thanks for the ideas; those will all be super easy for folks to bring! |
