Baked Potatoes

I have been wrapping my potatoes in foil and boiling them instead of baking. The first batch or two the foil usually turns dark until the chlorine or whatever is in the water boils out. Does anyone know what can be added to the water to eliminate the discoloring of the foil? Any other pros of cons to boiling for large groups?

This is a new one on me.

If you think it is the chlorine, allowing the water to stand uncovered overnight removes the chlorine.
