Wedding for 160 So we are making all the food for my son's wedding. 160 ppl. Appetizers are Cheese and Crackers, Veggies and Ranch Dip, Spinach Dip with French bread cubes, Hummus Platter with pita chips. Dinner is Pulled pork _+ rolls for sandwiches, "baked potato" potato salad, creamy coleslaw (and some Carolina style + pickles for the sandwiches), fruit platter. And then wedding cake and cheesecake bar. For drinks we are having lemonade and iced tea. Keg of home brew and a frozen "margarita machine" with two alcohol options. I am known for my cooking and people know to come to my house hungry. We entertain big groups all the time, however this is the biggest event I have ever cooked all the food for. It is going to be on a hot August evening, Wedding is at 5pm, at same site as dinner/reception. How much non-alcoholic beverages should I plan on? |

Realized I was supposed to put quantities. Appetizers of Cheese (5 lbs) and Crackers, Veggies and Ranch Dip (1qt), Leek Spinach Dip x4, Hummus Platter with pita chips (4 bags). Dinner of Pulled Pork (we are smoking enough pork for 6 oz pp cooked) with rolls for sammies, Baked Potato-Potato Salad (40lbs of potatoes), Coleslaw- creamy (20lbs) (+ 5 lbs vinegar based-for the sammies), Fresh Fruit trays (Strawberries, grapes, melon, pineapple but how many lbs???) Wedding cake and cheesecake bar for dessert. |

Cheese and Crackers, I would do at least 12 pounds of cheese, some could be spreads or logs. Crackers OK Veggies and Ranch Dip, 20 pounds veggies, Ranch dip, 2 1/2 to 3 quarts Spinach Dip, 2- 2 1/2 gallons French bread cubes, 10 pounds Hummus Platter, 2- 2 1/2 gallons pita chips, 8 pounds.
Dinner fruit platter, see the fruit tray page, at least the amounts from the deluxe tray for 100- 5-6 pieces per 100
wedding cake- you can save on this by adding a grooms cake and having a smaller wedding cake lemonade and iced tea, at least 8 gallons each Keg of home brew (full keg serves 40-50) and a frozen "margarita machine" If this saves you time, trouble, or money, please make a donation, maybe a dime or quarter per guest, to support this site. Thanks. |

I am using yukon gold potatoes and leaving skins on, is 45 lbs enough? Great suggestion on the cheese spread, was thinking of doing a smoked salmon dip with salmon we smoked this weekend, should be perfect!
We did order just a two tiered cake and sheet cakes to cut and serve. Much cheaper this way. |

You have 160 people. If you look at the 1 pound package of potato salad in the store, can you imagine it serving 5 people? No, 2 or at most 3. Potatoes are cheap- go 50 pounds. |
