I'm having a party at a venue where we can only use the oven for heating.I'd like to cook salmon.Would it be okay to brown the salmon at home then finish cooking it at the venue.The venue is literally 6 minutes from the house.This is the way I would cook the salmon at home.(browning it then finishing it in the oven. |

Faced with this situation and a summer party, I would do a cold poached salmon portion and a hot soup, or a different dish entirely. Try the split cooking at home, allowing 15 minutes between, since it will take that long to load, unload and transfer the salmon to the oven- was someone there to preheat the oven?. It will be less than satisfactory, I am afraid... |
