Hi, I'm a first time poster. I have a question that I haven't seen any postings about. I have a new elect. range by Maytag. The oven has a covered bottom element. It seems to be fine except it won't let me make a good pound cake. It cooks on the outside way before the inside. Does anyone have an oven like this? Sure would like to know if it's suppose to cook this way. Thanks, Pat |

Cut down the sugar about 1/4 cup and reduce the temperature. But first, check the temp with a separate thermometer. Be sure to preheat fully before adding the cake. |
