I am planning a surprise birthday party October 11 for my boyfriend who is turning 44. Expecting between 50-75 people. Menu is pulled rump roast sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, baked beans and some type of pasta salad, can you suggest anything else and do I do some type of appetizer as well? Thanks

With this menu, I would add an appetizer of fruit trays (see fruit tray page) and chips and dip, 1 pound chips per 12, 1 pint dip per pound.

You need 1 1/2 to 2 gallons slaw, 2-3 quarts pickles, 4 pounds sliced onions. Maybe a roasted veg? Can be made ahead and served room temp, about 12 pounds.
