Just purchased a rather pricey whole ham. It is really good and a special holiday treat. I won't be serving Thanksgiving dinner this year but wanted the ham for Christmas and as a special treat. Looking for thoughts on this: Should I cook the whole ham, then cut it into meal sized portions to freeze or cut it first into portions and cook as I need them. I don't want it to dry out. My family also has a hard time putting on the brakes when it comes to ham and could devour the whole thing in a weekend. NOT burning up a $80 ham over a weekend! |

Better to freeze before cooking- less likely to dry out if it does not have to be reheated. |
