I want to make flan, but do not have a souffle dish, calls for a 2qt. baking dish. Could i use a casserole dish for this, & is it necessary for a larger pan of hot water around it??? another way, i have a 2qt stoneware bowl, similar to a souffle, would it work, and do i have to have the water around it?? |

Either will work. Putting it in a water bath will give you a smoother, creamier texture. This is one of my favorite desserts! |
