I'm so sick! I've have my new glass top for two days and it already has scratches on it! 128542; now I'm wishing I just went with an ugly coil stove.
Just sick

Most likely your old pots and the habit of sliding rather than lifting pots are to blame. So sorry- this is one of the reasons I don't recommend them.

The very first day after my husband surprised with a glass top stove my mother in law made breakfast links in a large frying pan and shook them to brown. Well it left a million scratches on the burner and I was sick.... but they buffed out over time and other wear and tear made then less visible too. I did that day throw out all my pans that had scratched bottoms from being on the old coil stove and taught myself never to slide a pot ever again.
