i was trying to find another way to have bread for my guest instead of having the bread at the buffet line. the only way is to have the basket at the table with the bread with tongs, wrapped in a pretty purple napkin. I'm over thinking things -- people that don't close the basket back up and those that talk over the baskets without closing up the napkins. |

Bread and butter on the tables is a perfectly useful service mode- it does slightly increase the amount of bread eaten- allow about 15-16 pounds per 100, and 3 pounds butter- but it helps hungry people wait for the line to go down, and increases social interaction. Don't be over-germ-conscious, talking/coughing/sneezing gets plates and all, not just the bread basket, and we don't cover the plates. |
