I am looking for a cookware like the Vision Ware (with out the risk of explosion) so am considering Le Crueset, and was wondering what others think of this product. Realizing it is pricey, is it worth it, and is it safe? Cast iron wasnt my first choice, but sites like this have made me move on from glass ware. Unless there is an option I havent found yet? Thanks for any input.

This is a grand pot for any long slow cooking. Cautions; do not heat empty; do not pour boiling food into a cold pan; if you store something in the refrigerator in an enameled pan, reheat VERY slowly, or you can craze the enamel.

I like other pans for fast frying.

I must've been crazy!
After warning my roomies like crazy (they love to use it), I've scorched my own Le Crueset covered cookpot. Truth to tell, it was showing a little rust along a crack, so I was thinking of repair - and now I must repair! Please advise!

I have never seen a repair program for these. They are iron underneath, so will not harm you if used cracked. Maybe check with the manufacturer?

Le Crueset is supposed to have a lifetime warranty, which means that you may possibly be able to get a replacement. If you call Williams Sonoma, they can point you in the right direction on how to contact Le Crueset.
