I am preparing a Christmas dinner for our church for about 35 people. I plan on fixing ham, chicken or turkey, green beans and sweet potatoes. Can you suggest a good salad to go with this besides just a lettuce salad. Also do I need another side? |

Yes, a bit more filling out would be great, even just good rolls and butter, or stuffing. Turkey is more festive than chicken and can be done a day ahead, chilled, sliced and reheated, with the carcass making the broth for the gravy. I suggest either a marinated cooked veg salad, such as this beautiful squash and beet salad cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/12900-roasted-beet-and-winter-squash-salad-with-walnuts or consider a fruit salad such as true ambrosia, or a classic frozen fruit salad, on this website: www.ellenskitchen.com/turkey/fruitsal.html |
