I am making 14 lbs of cheesy potatoes using hashbrowns. Can I prep and bake them the day before and reheat them the day of our no? And if I can, how would I go about that? |

Reheating these gives a second rate product. Is there a reason you can't bake day of? Write back. |

They will be at the hall we are having the party and they would be the only thing to take care of the morning of.. other than my will be 1 yr old! I can, it would just be easier to do before |

OK, how about prep and refrigerate the day before, then bake at the hall, allowing for 20 minutes preheat time and adding 1/2 hour to the cooking time? You could even ask someone else to turn them on- |

Why do I need to add a half hour if I'm doing them in an electric roaster? It should take about 3-4 hours, so it should really take about 5? |

No. Allowing 4 will be plenty. Actually, 3 would be plenty. The half hour is not for the roaster but because they are cold. You would do it in a regular oven also. You just have to account for them being icy cold from the fridge and an extra thick layer. |

Also, at what temp do I heat them at, and I believe you switch them to a lower temp after a certain amount of time. Thanks for the help! I'm a newby at planning for a crowd! |

You don't use butter fir this recipe? |

No, with all the cheese and the usual ham/bacon, it has plenty of fat. |
