What's the best way to fry eggs in a steel pan?

I recently bought a stainless steel cookware set from calphalon. The pots are easy enough and even the frying pan was easy when I made chicken in it, but my question is how do I fry foods like eggs and pancake batter without tearing it apart. I've tried putting olive oil on the pan but it didn't seem to work when I tried to make some over easy eggs. Please help.

Are these the same eggs and pancakes that worked fine in the old pots? If yes, you do need oil or butter, but also try turning down the heat some and cooking a little longer. Caphalon pans transfer heat very fast.

The older pans were non stick, but they were coming apart and my wife and I thought it was time to invest in a set that would last us a long time. With all the news lately of teflon having possible cancer causing agents, she felt more comfortable with the stainless steel. I've never used stainless steel before and my attempts to use the frying pans are just becoming a sticky mess. I'll try a lower setting. I guess I just have to get out of my habits I had with non stick and figure out new methds with the new pans. Thanks
