Hello. The recipe I usually use for prime rib is one hour in a pre-heated 400 degree oven, turn the oven off and leave the oven door closed. Then 45 minutes before serving turn oven on to 325. This has given me medium-rare meat for any size roast. My question is this: will this same method work in an electric roaster? I need to cook 30 lbs of prime rib and thought I could do two 15 pound roasts in electric roasters. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated! |

This technique depends on excellent insulation, which roasters do not have. Don't risk it. |
