I am getting married May 19th and trying to finalize what I will need for food. We will have about 150 people with about 30 of them being children. Our menu consists of:

Appetizers:

Veggie Platter with dip (baby carrots, celery, sliced cucumbers and broccoli Florets)
Cheese, pepperoni and cracker Platter
Shrimp & Cocktail Sauce Platter
Fruit Platter

My thought is 2 platters of each except the fruit?

The meal will be:

Baked Ziti (2 Large Chafing dishes) will this be enough?
Tossed Salad
Lemon Pepper Chicken (planned on getting 120 4 oz breasts)
Glazed Carrots (12 pounds)
Potato Salad
Rolls & Butter
Chicken nuggets for the kiddos.

Could you advice how much I should have and if my thoughts are on task?

Thank you so much!

Bonnie, first be aware that a party this size takes 2 or 3 single sided serving lines, as well as 2-3 people in the kitchen and about 6 out front to set up, serve, and clean up this size party. These can't be wedding party people since hey will be setting up during the service.

To me this looks like not enough food.

Veggie Platter with dip (baby carrots, celery, sliced cucumbers and broccoli Florets)
15 pounds veg, 3 quarts ranch

Cheese, 10 pounds
pepperoni, 12 pounds
crackers, 8 pounds

Shrimp & Cocktail Sauce Platter, this is a VERY popular dish, 15 pounds medium shrimp, 15 pints sauce. If this is too expensive, go to a seafood dip of some kind, 10 quarts

Fruit Platter, 16 pounds ready o ea- 4-6 pieces per person

Baked Ziti (2 Large Chafing dishes) will this be enough? Usually a large pan is only 24 servings, you would do 5
Tossed Salad, use the plan for 100 page do 1 1/4 times the amount
Lemon Pepper Chicken (planned on getting 120 4 oz breasts), do a least 160; many men will take 2
Glazed Carrots (12 pounds), 28 pounds
Potato Salad, 4 gallons
Rolls & Butter, 16 pounds rolls, 4 pounds butter
Chicken nuggets for the kiddos; many will take regular and ziti. 8-10 pounds, depending on age of children.
