I’m planning a surprise party for my mom’s 70th birthday. I’m anticipating 70 guests. My menu is roast beef, chicken francaise, pasta ala vodka, potato, vegetable, and salad. I calculated 15 pounds of beef, 13-14 pounds of pasta and chicken. Do those numbers seem correct to you? |

Good for you, working up an estimate before posting! When given a choice between beef and chicken, about 2/3 of the people select beef, about 50 for your party, and 1 pounds boneless beef per 2 people makes 25 pounds of beef. The chicken is fine. If you are also serving a potato dish, even 10 pounds of pasta may be more than you need. Have a lovely time. Happy birthday , Mom! |
