I need to know how much lemonade and how many cookies to serve at a kindergarten graduation reception? The lemonade will be served cold with no ice in 6 oz. cups. The graduation will start at 6:00 p.m. and last from 1 to 1 1/2 hours. The reception will start around 7:30 or 8:00 and we are expecting 800 people. This number includes 160 kindergarten children and their siblings, parents and grandparents. |

So you are expecting 640+ adults and 160 kids. The graduation is right at dinner time, so they will be hungry ad thirsty by 7:30. Allow 12 ounces minimum per adult and 6 ounces per kid. If there are no snacks, allow 50% more. If there are cookies, allow 3 0unces each instead of 2- did I mention they will be hungry and thirsty? Have ice water available in pitchers and if at all possible, provide a bowl of sugar free lemonade for the diabetics and dieters in the crowd- about 15% of the total. I suggest using a frozen concentrate with real juice and pulp- try several- locally the best one is a store brand, not minute made. If you decide to "kick it up" a notch, adding cranberry juice makes a very pretty and tasty punch. Have some extra cans of concentrate in the freezer as back up. It is cheap insurance and Punch and cookie receptions vary remarkably in the amounts devoured. |

PS If you make a couple of 50 cup urns of coffee, many parents will bless your name... |
