Sugar coated Jelly slices

Hi Ellen. I had tasted a type of jelly don't know what it is called, or could it be made from agar-agar or jelly powder with gelatin? It is a very firm texture jelly cut into 1" square and 1/4" thinly slice, quite dry, coated with fine sugar, and it is stored in airtight container at room temperature. Appreciate if you can provide the recipe for this. Thank you.

I suspect what you had was a candy/confection called "Turkish delight" which is a very stiff candy, usually fruit-flavored but may also be rose,or mastic, and sometimes has shelled pistachios included. I have made it successfully, but it is quite temperamental to make, it doesn't always set up and is never exactly the same twice. I will see if I can find the recipe I used.
