I'm cooking a mexican bean dish for 75 people. How many pounds of dry pintos would I need to cook? I'm find answers all over the internet of between 2# and 12#. Anyone know? thanks, |

1 pound of dried beans cooks up to 6 to 8 cups cooked, and the usual side dish serving is 1/2 cup cooked. I generally cook 7 pounds for 100 people as a side dish, but up to 12 pounds for he-man red beans and rice. So it depends on your plan. |

Jessica, is this a question about beans for a side dish, or about the fish? If fish, please post under "start a new topic". If beans, syart with about 5 pounds dry, or use 4/5 of one of my recipes for 100. |
