My step-dad had that surgery done right after Mother's day and is doing teriffic! I pray that you will recover as well as He has. Thanks so much for the pages of so much info! You are a treasure. I am trying to get ideas for planning church dinners. It will be the people who attend bringing in covered dishes and the Church providing the meats, plates, cutlery, and beverages. Our attendance is around 350 and sometimes more with guests. We are trying to have a dinner every month. You have given me "hope" that this can be done for a reasonable cost. I do however, have one question? How many covered dishes/desserts should each family bring to enable us to have enough for maybe 100 guests?

You need about 1 to 1 1/2 pound food total per adult person. So you provide the meats and the side dish plan is, a 9x13 pan is 8 to 10 servings- you want 30-40 of starch, 30 plus each of vegetable, 30 of salads and 30 of dessert. Does that help?
