Get Well Soon Ellen. I got a silly question but really needed the answer anxiously. I use a microwave convection oven, not the type with slide in horizontal rack, but the type with rounded metal stand with three legs and which rests on the ceramic turntable inside. Meaning I could only use round cookies trays. I am not able to use square trays 12"x12"X1" & 10"x16"x1" (for certain type of sponge roll cakes) because when the ceramics rotates & the square trays gets jammed inside no space for rotating. Any idea is it possible if I remove the rotating ceramic trays, and just use the round metal rack with legs resting on the oven bottom, and with the square trays on it? And When the ceramic is removed I see a little knob at oven bottom which holds and moves the ceramic. Will the oven gets damaged baking with ceramic removed? This is the only option if I need to bake with square trays especially a 10x16x1. Very dissapointed as I am not able to bake with squares. The manuals does not say anything about it except to just leave it as it is. I had asked around but no one is sure about it. Thank you. |

Hi, Chew, The knee #1 is coming along pretty well, thanks. I would call the consumer help line for this brans with the model number and say I want to bake on the platform with the tuntable out, and is there any danger to the oven. Then if they say no, try it. I bet the reason for the design is that the oven does not heat evenly and the rotation compensates for that. If you have room in your kitchen, Farberware makes a good countertop straight convection oven that works great. I used one for years. For a serious cook, I have had a lot of kitchens without working stovetops, ovens, etc. |

I guess I really have to try it. Another alternative is to search for a round rack with legs stands wider than the ceramic diameter, but this is difficult to find in the market, Will not give up and keep searching. Thank you for reply Ellen. And speedy recovery to you! |
