Hi, My husband and I recently purchased an old cottage on the Potomac River in Maryland and it has a Real Host range. I cleaned it up and find that it works great. However, I am having trouble getting the oven to reach over 350 degrees--just like Mark who wrote in to you about the same problem. If you take the bottom plate out of the over (it tells you where to light the pilot) you can see the burner and determine, if, when you turn the oven knob, whether or not the size of the flame increases. We have found that no matter to what temperature we turn the knob, the flame coming out of the burner stays the same size. We are going to purchase a new thermostat for the oven. That is wire-type thing located at the back of the oven. That thermostat is available because it was used in many ovens up at least through the late 80s. We haven't investigated how to replace the thermostat but how hard can it be :) ? That is the project we will undertake in a few weeks. We love that old stove. We'll keep you posted. |

The other possiblity is that the burner itself is blocked or plugged in some way that is limiting the gas flow. That is probaly a professional cleaning job. |

We have a Real Host oven and need to fix the oven. The burners work perfectly. We also live in Maryland. Do you have any idea where to find parts for it? Thanks |
